Active Styles

I need a cute bikini that will stay put when I swim laps or play beach volleyball. What should I look for?

Shop for a bikini with a supportive built-in bra. Steer clear of halters, which put too much pressure on your neck, and choose a style with crisscross or racerback straps that fit between your shoulder blades, says Anna Jerstrom, a designer and the founder of Calavera Swimwear. Check that the top's back strap and the bottom's waistband are made with sturdy elastic to ensure a snug fit and that they have silicone grippers there and around the leg openings to keep the suit in place when you move. Before you try on a suit, stretch the fabric to see if it snaps back into place; if it does, it will give you good support when you jump and dive.

I agree with this comment. This swimwear is great if you are a skinny flat chested under 25 year old. I am not going to be 'active'on the beach in any of those. Where are the sporty outfits for people who run, surf, kayak etc? Where are the one-pieces?

Disappointed to see your choice of best swimsuits deviates from "fitness" to "fashion." Where is the focus on health in choices as skimpy as this? Where is the option to avoid cancer causing over exposure to sun with rash guard type swimwear? It IS available and you should make it known. See Coolibar.com as one example, with UPF 50+ sun protection.
