Are there any foods to boost metabolism?
What foods will give me a fast metabolsim?

"None that have been scientifically proven," says Madelyn Fernstrom, Ph. D., founding director of Pittsburg Medical Center's Weight Management Center and FITNESS advisory board member. "But moderate amounts of caffeine, like a cup of coffee daily, can give it a temporary lift and help you work out harder."

I find that the more healthier foods I eat the more my metabolism stays high. I've been practicing this for years and people always ask me "how can I eat so much and not gain weight?" As a 43 year young male I just tell them mind over matter lol. It works for some and not for others. Here is another way to find answers you may be looking for. http://bit.ly/UtJQs6

Hi, It is vital to your overall health to have a metabolism that is operating at a high rate. Your metabolism helps keep your weight stable and keeps your body regulated and healthy.Following are some foods to boost metabolism: Oatmeal:This super food is rich in fat soluble fiber, which requires a lot of calories to break down. Low-fat Yogurt:Low-fat yogurt is one of the best foods to eat if you're trying to lose weight and boost your metabolism.

I dont know what it does but if you are battling weight. Every time I add cooked peppers and onions I loose an extra pound a night. And yes I saute them in butter. But I tend to try to eat extremely healthy cause for some reason my metabolism is really slow even with work outs. And I am one of those I eat anything unhealthy it packs at least 2lbs. I lost 81 lbs and am working on the last 19. Try reading labels I dont count calories I look at fat and try to eat food with one ingredient.

When I feel like my metabolism is sluggish, I try to fit in two 20 minute workouts instead of one 40 minute workout, and load up on raw veggies and low fat proteins like eggs for a week.

think of your metabolism as your engine. IF you're trying to get top speed out of a car filled with water, your engine will soon be destroyed. So basically if you eat transfats which are plastic to your arteries ( mono and diglycerides and also hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated fats)and you consume acidic sodas which suck life out of your bones and organs and you dont eat fiber to stay regular and your idea of veggies is cooked with butter, you should expect a sluggish metabolism. And if you are eating healthy but still no luck, try 1 week water fast and or afterwards doing colonics and enemas and then a jucie fast. Most likely you may alergic to something and the toxic buildup is eating all the vitamins in your intestines therby not allowing you to reap the benefits

pure aloe vera blended with water maybe a little lemon or giner each morning will give you energy. ALso no soda no energy drinks and no fast food or processed meats, no pork, low sodium, and no transfats or hydrogenated foods. Water daily and eat 5 veggies and 5 fruits daily. IF cant eat, then juice.

There are no foods that will increase your metabolism. Substances like caffeine or caffeine supplements will increase your metabolism, but that mainly happens during workouts and I'm talking about weight lifting not cardio. Now eating healthy or limiting carbs, protein, salt, and fat to just the right amount your body needs will keep your metabolism from slowing down. Health and fitness is always a double standard its easy to gain weight and slow down your metabolism.

Fast metabolisms go hand in hand with muscle. Try moderate weight lifting 2-3 times a week to build some muscle endurance (you won't bulk up if you use moderate weight and moderate reps). Help your muscles with lean proteins like eggs and chicken, and healthy fats like olive oil and avocado(remembering that fat burns fat and protein sustains muscle). Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water to keep your system flushed and running strong!

Yes there are few remedies for that. Try eating prunes, empty stomach in the morning. Another remedy I use is, I soak 5 dried plums and 5 tamarind pieces overnight in a glass of water. In morning I just drain it drink it, without sugar. It also helps blood pressure. But dont try any of these in excessively.

should this cup of coffee with skimmed milk add up calories and spoil the diet?

I heard hot peppers like habaneros can boost your metabolism a bit. If you can stand the heat! They are a little too hot for me. I'd rather work out. Exercise, especially strength training, works really well for me. And you don't have to bulk up like a bodybuilder (unless you want to) to give your metabolism a kick.

This information is very helpful, seeing as everyone has a tip on what to eat to boost metabolism. Seems as if everyone wants the easy answer that doesn't include the word exercise. * Note for Fitness Editor: Madelyn Fernstrom, Ph. D., is from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). (Not Pittsburg as stated above)

I tried adding cayenne pepper to each of my meals. If you can handle the spice, it helped for me!
